1994The leaders of 35 ministries came together to launch ADF.
1995ADF funded two
U.S. Supreme Court victories. One involved discrimination against a Christian group on a secular campus (
Rosenberger v. Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia), and the other a St. Patrick's Day parade that came under legal attack for excluding homosexual militants (
Hurley v. Irish-American Gay, Lesbian, and Bisexual Group of Boston).
2000
The U.S. Supreme Court grants review of eight
ADF-funded or assisted cases.
2000Citing the
Hurley decision, the U.S. Supreme Court rules that the Boy Scouts of America can exclude homosexuals from leadership positions.
2001Citing
Rosenberger, the U.S. Supreme Court decides that schools do not violate the U.S. Constitution when they allow Bible clubs to meet after hours.
2003
ADF's first book,
"The Homosexual Agenda: The Principal Threat to Religious Freedom" is published. It sells over 50,000 copies.
2003ADF launches the Christmas Project.
2004
ADF plays a pivotal role in the legal battle to let the people decide the issue of
same-sex "marriage" through 13 state constitutional amendments, all passed by the voters with overwhelming margins.
2005
The first
Day of Truth is held.

ADF's second book,
"The ACLU vs America" is published. It has sold more than 70,000 copies.

Texas becomes the 19th state to adopt a constitutional amendment protecting marriage as the union of one man and one woman.

After a 10-year battle, ADF attorneys secure a permanent injunction against the Board of Education of the City of New York, barring them from refusing to rent space at a public school to a Bronx church for Sunday morning worship meetings.
2006
In a span of less than six weeks, ADF assists in four unanimous victories at the United States Supreme Court.
