Wednesday the Alliance Defense Fund opened a free telephone hotline (1-800-655-6592) and Web page (www.telladf.org/r71) for Washingtonians who believe they have credible reports of retaliation against them because of their support of Referendum 71. Referendum 71 is a citizen initiative that would allow voters to decide on a state senate bill that makes marriage and “registered domestic partnerships” effectively the same except in name.

WV high court renders moms, dads unimportant in adoption cases- 6.5.2009
The West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals Friday reversed a lower court’s order to place a 15-month old foster child with a married family in accordance with state law. According to attorneys with the Alliance Defense Fund, the court’s ruling essentially elevated the desires of two cohabitating women who wanted to adopt the child over the state’s adoption law and the judge’s legal discretion to rule within the bounds of it. The two women were temporarily providing foster care without any guarantee of adoption.

Despite the fact that same-sex "marriage" is not legal in the state of New York, Governor David Paterson is working to force this counterfeit relationship on its citizens. On May 14, Governor Paterson, through his legal counsel, sent out a memo to all state agencies. In it, he cites a recent state court ruling in Martinez v. County of Monroe.

ADF asks Md. court to let the people be heard - 6.2.08
Attorneys with the Alliance Defense Fund filed a friend-of-the-court brief Monday asking a Maryland court to protect the valid petition signatures of Montgomery County voters. Representing a citizen voter coalition, ADF attorneys are arguing against a lawsuit filed by a group of self-described homosexual and transsexual plaintiffs that seeks to disenfranchise over 900,000 Montgomery County residents from having their say on a controversial “gender identity” bill.
