· Please pray: Attorneys and allied attorneys with the ADF Center for Academic Freedom have filed suit against Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania for its continued violations of student free speech rights. The university reinstituted unconstitutional policies it was supposed to revise or drop as part of a 2004 legal settlement. read more...

· Please continue to pray for marriage in New York: Although the New York Court of Appeals declined to hear an appeal from an appellate court’s decision holding that municipalities must recognize foreign same-sex “marriages” in the Empire State, the final word has not yet been heard on the issue.  The court reasoned that it could not hear the case because the lower court’s decision had yet to “finally determine the action.”  Once that occurs, the Court of Appeals may again be asked to consider the case. read more...

· Praise God! The Michigan Supreme Court ruled 5–2 that the state’s constitutional amendment protecting marriage does not allow for the extension of taxpayer-funded benefits to the unmarried “domestic partners” of state and municipal employees. ADF attorneys filed a friend-of-the-court brief in the case, arguing that the state can extend benefits to whomever it wishes so long as it doesn’t do so on the basis or a marriage-like status prohibited by the Michigan Constitution. read more...
