For decades, the ACLU has worked from within this country to attack
Our First Liberty – religious freedom. But in recent years, they have worked to import the legal decisions of foreign governments, creating new "rights" our Founding Fathers never intended.
Ake Green's case and ones like it have implications for the future of religious expression in America. The ACLU and its allies are working to import foreign law decisions to America in order to chip away at our religious freedom. In fact, five sitting Supreme Court justices support the use of foreign cases as precedent to decide domestic cases, and the Court has already taken note of foreign law in some of its decisions.
Imagine what America might look like tomorrow if our courts adopted the decisions of these countries:
- Canada, where the "hate-crimes" law has led the Canadian Bible Society to warn that merely reading certain Bible passages in public could be a crime—and where Christians have already been fined for placing a newspaper ad presenting the biblical position on sexual behavior.
- European nations (like Holland), where prostitution and euthanasia are legal, same-sex "marriages" are sanctioned, and hard-core pornography is rampant.
- Great Britain, where a British Airlines employee was suspended for wearing a cross necklace to work, even though employees of other religions were allowed to wear jewelry and symbols of their faiths.
ADF is fighting in the courts throughout America to make sure this doesn't happen. We are also litigating key religious liberty cases abroad in order to prevent the creation of harmful foreign case law that might otherwise be imported by the ACLU into American courts.
Your gift today helps us prevent foreign law from replacing the Constitution our Founding Fathers created: A Constitution that protects our religious freedom, and that of our children and grandchildren.
