1. NJ school board insists on aborting student pro-life event
Attorneys with the Alliance Defense Fund filed a lawsuit Friday on behalf of a student against the Bridgeton Board of Education after officials at Bridgeton High School prohibited her from expressing a religious viewpoint on the 6th annual Pro-life Day of Silent Solidarity. In October, ADF attorneys distributed a legal memo offering to legally defend students across the nation kept from participating in the event by school officials.

2. ADF urges prosecution for death of 14th Fort Hood victim
The Alliance Defense Fund issued a letter Thursday to the Office of Staff Judge Advocate at Fort Hood, Texas, urging it to enforce the law by charging the suspect in the Fort Hood massacre with the killing of all 14 of the dead victims in the Fort Hood massacre, including the pre-born child of Private Francheska Velez.

3. College launches attack campaign on student body president over pro-life group’s display
Attorneys with the Alliance Defense Fund Center for Academic Freedom have issued a cease-and-desist letter to Sacramento City College officials after the president of the Associated Student Government was subjected to an illegal recall election for refusing to censor a pro-life group on campus.

4. ADF attorney available to media following hearing involving former Planned Parenthood director
ADF Senior Legal Counsel Steven H. Aden will be available by phone for media interviews Tuesday following a hearing in the lawsuit Planned Parenthood of Houston and Southeast Texas v. Johnson.  Planned Parenthood filed the lawsuit after the director of its Bryan health center, Abby Johnson, quit her job after observing an abortion procedure.  Planned Parenthood is seeking a temporary injunction to prohibit her from using records the abortion clinic falsely alleges she copied.  ADF attorneys are providing legal assistance to Johnson and the Brazos Valley Coalition for Life in preparation for Tuesday’s hearing.

5. ADF sues Milwaukee to halt harassment of pro-life advocates
Alliance Defense Fund attorneys filed a lawsuit Monday against the city of Milwaukee on behalf of several pro-life advocates to end a long pattern of harassment. For years, numerous pro-life advocates peacefully sharing their messages have been arrested, jailed, cited, harassed, threatened, and even physically assaulted. This has occurred even though they have maintained, out of an abundance of caution, a distance of at least 25 feet from any abortion clinic because of a 1993 court order issued against unrelated parties.

6. ADF attorneys ready to defend students participating in pro-life event
Attorneys with the Alliance Defense Fund are ready to offer free legal help to students who participate in the Pro-Life Day of Silent Solidarity should the students’ First Amendment rights be violated. The event, being held Tuesday at schools across the U.S., offers pro-life students an opportunity to express their viewpoint on the subject of abortion.

7. ADF: Ground won, lost against pro-abortion groups in suits challenging Ariz. law protecting women, children
Alliance Defense Fund attorneys made gains in federal and state court Tuesday against pro-abortion groups seeking to block the enforcement of new legislation passed this year in Arizona to protect pregnant women and their children. The U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona issued an order denying the Tucson Women's Center request for a preliminary injunction to stop an act passed this year to ensure that women have enough time and information before having an abortion. Meanwhile, even though the Arizona Superior Court for Maricopa County granted Planned Parenthood's preliminary injunction through an order keeping new state laws restricting abortion from taking effect today, ADF attorneys made headway in the first round of litigation.

8. Wash. college agrees to end discrimination against pro-life students
Community Colleges of Spokane and Spokane Falls Community College officials agreed to a court order Thursday that settles a lawsuit filed after they attempted to unconstitutionally silence the pro-life message of a student group. SFCC officials threatened student Beth Sheeran, represented by attorneys with the Alliance Defense Fund, and other members of a Christian student group with disciplinary measures, including expulsion, if they chose to hold a pro-life event on campus because the information they were sharing with other students was deemed “discriminatory” and did not include a pro-abortion viewpoint.

9. ADF responds to attack by pro-abortion groups on Ariz. law protecting women
Two Arizona legislators together with doctors and numerous organizations filed motions Tuesday through their attorneys with the Alliance Defense Fund to intervene as defendants in separate state and federal lawsuits aimed at tearing down new protections for women considering an abortion.

10. Case dismissed: Kansas court throws out unfounded charges against pro-life advocate
A judge dismissed criminal charges Wednesday against a pro-life woman arrested in the driveway of a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic for allegedly blocking traffic entering and leaving its parking lot.  The city alleged that a police officer issued an order to Carrie Kafka prior to her arrest to cease her activities, but the officer stated at trial that he observed no wrongdoing by Kafka and did not order her to cease her activities.  Video evidence from the day of the arrest confirms Kafka never prevented vehicles from accessing the clinic.
